The Blue Meanies are: John Baker (Lead Vocals, Keyboards, Guitar), Andy Marsden (Drums, Backing Vocals), Martyn Sheppard (Lead Guitar), Glenn Tommey (Guitar, Lead and Backing Vocals), James Warren (Bass Guitar, Lead and Backing Vocals).
The Blue Meanies have been performing for well over ten years and in that time have built a reputation as a solid, well-crafted and musically talented dance band for all occasions.
The Blue Meanies' repertoire is both vast and varied, including songs by Chic, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Kool and the Gang, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Van Morrison, Crowded House, The Eagles, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Robbie Williams and many more favourite artists.
John Baker and Andy Marsden used to play alongside Roland and Curt (and Steve Buck) in Graduate. Andy still uses the same drum kit from his Graduate days!!! John provided backing vocals on the Roland/Tears For Fears long player Elemental. Glenn Tommey’s association with Graduate goes back to their debut single ‘Mad One’ - Glenn having engineered that track and then later works by the band. James Warren was in The Korgis and lead axeman Martyn Sheppard is a long standing friend of John and Andy and the rest of the boys.
The Blue Meanies are basically a ‘good time rock n’ roll band’ - they have a CD entitled ‘Complete (so far)’ which can be obtained by e mailing The Meanies at meanies@musicprod.co.uk. The band also have their own web page where you can download some of the tracks on the CD and there is also a link for booking the band :
